Willow Projects & Natural Materials in the Garden

I love working with twigs, branches, logs, wood chips, leaves, rocks that are already in the garden and other natural materials to create beautiful, functional elements in the habitat garden. Using natural materials helps build a thriving ecosystem, natural materials provide food and shelter for beneficial wildlife, enrich the soil as they break down, and seamlessly blend into the landscape.

Natural plant supports, obelisks, and garden art do break down over time—but that’s a feature, not a flaw. Unlike metal and plastic garden products that degrade just enough to become useless but still persist in landfills for generations, natural materials decompose completely, nourishing the soil in the process.
